Eastern Africa

The East African financial systems are varied but are concentrated in commercial banking, but very small in relation to the economy. The Kenyan financial system is the largest and 6 times that of Uganda. The financial system in Kenya accounts for 56% of GDP and 30 % in Tanzania and Uganda. Kenya’s financial system is due to the industrialization of the economy. Banks in Eastern Africa account for 60-80% of the financial system.
